About TruGov

Civic infrastructure without a political side.

TruGov is an independent, nonpartisan civic technology project focused on improving the connection between constituents and public offices.

Our story

Started in fall 2023 with a simple problem in mind.

TruGov began in fall 2023, founded by Dominic Halbur and Cameron Carlile around the idea that communication between the public and government could be more direct, understandable, and functional.

The project has since grown into a broader civic technology platform concept spanning a constituent experience, a representative office portal, and structured government and legislative information.

TruGov remains in development. Its public-facing descriptions are intended to explain the project’s goals and direction, not to suggest that every planned capability is already available.

Our position

Nonpartisanship is a product requirement.

TruGov does not exist to persuade people how to vote or what to believe.

The platform is intended to provide the same civic framework regardless of a constituent’s political affiliation, ideology, or views.

TruGov does not endorse candidates or parties, campaign for political outcomes, or take platform positions on legislation. Its role is infrastructure: access, communication, information, and participation.
